Jena introduced me to the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio. I loved that she did. Such an amazing book (and movie). It is everything I try to do and teach my kids…be kind.

When I was doing so research for my presentation at Emily’s school, I came across the book Out of my Mind by Sharon M. Draper. Wow! What a great book. It teaches you that you cannot judge someone’s intelligence or abilities by their looks. Melody is nonverbal and cerebral palsy. She is so much more than that. It’s a great reminder that we all have gifts. So gifts are easily shared and others take time.

These are great books for upper elementary and middle school age kids. They are also a great read for an adult…good reminders and life lessons.

Do you have any book suggestions? I’m always looking for a good one for the kids and/or me.
